Nov 28: Depart home airport to Ben-Gurion International Airport in Tel-Aviv.

  • Caesarea: an ancient port city built by Herod the Great, significant as the place where the Apostle Peter baptized Cornelius, the first Gentile convert to Christianity (Acts 10). (Details)
  • Haifa: Bahai Gardens, a symbol of peace and unity, and a moment to reflect on the inclusivity of faith. 
  • Kafr Kanna: Cana, the site of Jesus’ first recorded miracle—turning water into wine at a wedding feast (John 2:1-11), a reminder of His power and grace. (Details)
  • Nazareth: the town where Jesus grew up and began His ministry, and visit sites like the Basilica of the Annunciation, which commemorates the angel Gabriel’s announcement to Mary (Luke 1:26-38). (Details)

Dec 1: Galilee Area (B L D) (map)

  • Mount Tabor: the traditional site of the Transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:1-8), where He revealed His divine glory to Peter, James, and John, and His encounter with Elijah and Moses.
  • Mount of Beatitudes:  overlooking the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), teaching profound lessons about the Kingdom of God.
  • Capernaum: referred to as the “Town of Jesus,” where He performed numerous miracles and taught in the synagogue (Mark 1:21-34).
  • Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee: reflecting on Jesus walking on water (Matthew 14:22-33) and calming the storm (Mark 4:35-41).
  • Migdal: lunch at Tanureen Restaurant, experiencing local flavors. Also known as Magdala, this is where Mary of Magdalene came from. Largest producer of salt for fishery preservation during Jesus time.
  • Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes (Matthew 14:13-21)
  • Church of St. Peter’s Primacy: where Jesus appeared to His disciples after the Resurrection and reinstated Peter (John 21:1-19)
  • Yardenit: the baptismal site on the Jordan River, a special place for reflection and spiritual renewal, recalling Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist (Matthew 3:13-17).

Dec 2: Betlehem Area (B L D) (map)

  • Shepherd’s Field: where angels announced Jesus’ birth to shepherds (Luke 2:8-20).
  • Church of the Nativity: one of Christianity’s holiest sites, marking the traditional location of Jesus’ birth (Matthew 2:1-6). Reflect on the significance of Christ’s humble beginnings
  • Mount of Olive area:
    • Chapel of the Ascension: commemorating Jesus’ ascension into heaven (Acts 1:9-12)
    • Pater Noster: where Jesus is believed to have taught the Lord’s Prayer (Luke 11:1-4).
    • Dominus Flevit: the site where Jesus wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41-44) before his triumphant entry.
  • Mount Zion area:
    • The Upper Room: traditionally associated with the Last Supper and the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4)
    • David’s Tomb: a revered site in Jewish tradition
    • St. Peter in Galicantu: the church commemorating Peter’s denial of Jesus and the place where Jesus was held the night before His crucifixion (Matthew 26:69-75).

Dec 3: Old City Jerusalem (B L D) (map)

  • Via Dolorosa: retracing the steps of Jesus on His way to the crucifixion (John 19:17).
  • St. Anne Church: built near the believed birthplace of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.
  • Pool of Bethesda: where Jesus healed a man who had been ill for 38 years (John 5:1-15).
  • Holy Sepulchre: marking the sites of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection (John 19:17-20:18).
  • Western Wall (Wailing Wall): a sacred site of prayer and connection to the Second Temple in Jewish tradition.
  • Jericho: known as the oldest city in the world. Reflect on the biblical account of the walls of Jericho falling (Joshua 6:1-20).
  • The Garden Tomb: a peaceful alternative site believed by some to be the location of Jesus’ burial and resurrection, offering a moment of deep spiritual reflection

Dec 4: Southern Adventure (B L D) (map)

  • Masada: the ancient fortress built by King Herod that became a symbol of Jewish resilience during the Roman siege. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers breathtaking views and deep historical significance.
  • Qumran: the archaeological site where the Dead Sea Scrolls, some of the oldest biblical manuscripts, were discovered in nearby caves. Reflect on the connection between these scrolls and the preservation of biblical texts.
  • Ein Gedi: a lush oasis in the desert where David hid from King Saul (1 Samuel 24:1-2). Walk among the waterfalls and unique wildlife, taking in the natural beauty of this historic refuge.
